IAI MALAT Legacy UAS Model
The first RQ-5A Hunter unit became operational in the US Army in 1985, specially designed as a robust and highly survivable platform. Capable of operating from unprepared runways, it was equipped with two engines, providing unprecedented redundancy and survivability.
It was the first unmanned platform to operate a fully integrated multi-sensor gyro-stabilized payload, designed specifically for ISR missions. The Hunters have supported many conflicts in which the US has been involved, including Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. It is still operational after having been upgraded several times during the years. Overall, the Hunter fleet has flown over 100,000 hours with the U.S. Army.
