Israel Aerospace Industries

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is Israel's largest state-owned aerospace and defense company, producing military and commercial aircraft, unmanned aerial systems, missiles, radars, and satellites.

IAI was founded in 1953 as Bedek Aviation Company to maintain Israeli Air Force aircraft; it was later renamed Israel Aircraft Industries and, in 2006, Israel Aerospace Industries. The company is headquartered in Lod, Israel, adjacent to Ben Gurion Airport.

Products

IAI's Malat (unmanned systems) division develops the Heron family of medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial systems, marketed for sustained, multi-sensor intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions — see IAI's Heron UAS, marketed as "Aerial Persistence". Other notable product lines include the Harop loitering munition, the Arrow family of ballistic-missile interceptors, Barak air-defense systems, Gabriel anti-ship missiles, Ofeq reconnaissance satellites, and business-jet conversion work through its Bedek Aviation Group.

IAI systems are operated by dozens of countries; notable Heron UAS customers include India, Turkey, Germany, Canada, and Australia.
