Neros

Neros (Neros Technologies) is a US drone maker founded in 2023 by Soren Monroe-Anderson and Olaf Hichwa, two former competitive drone racers who met at a race in Muncie, Indiana, in 2017. Monroe-Anderson, an MIT-trained electrical engineer and 2020 MultiGP world champion, is chief executive; Hichwa, a designer of custom drone circuit boards, is chief technology officer. The company is headquartered in El Segundo, California, after starting out of a garage.

History and products

Neros says its founders were prompted to start the company by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, initially building first-person-view (FPV) drones from Chinese-sourced components and personally delivering them to Kyiv in late 2023. To reduce reliance on Chinese supply chains, the company moved production to Southern California and built a US-based manufacturing line; Defense News reported in July 2025 that the Torrance, California facility was producing about 1,500 Archer drones a month, with a stated goal of reaching 10,000 a month, and that roughly two-thirds of output was going to Ukraine (including a 6,000-drone, six-month order from the International Drone Coalition) with the remainder going chiefly to the US military.

The company's main product is the Archer, a modular attritable FPV quadcopter built in 5, 8 and 10-inch frame sizes, offered in both unarmed and armed "Archer Strike" configurations, alongside the Crossbow ground-control station. Neros has been selected as a vendor for the US Army's Purpose-Built Attritable Systems (PBAS) programme and has supplied drones to the US Marine Corps, and in August 2026 the company raised a $250 million Series C round at a reported $2.5 billion valuation to scale production further.
