Swarm Aero is a US defence-technology company founded in 2022 and based in Oxnard, California. The company has been developing its aircraft in relative secrecy since its founding, led by chief executive Peter Kalogiannis and co-founder and chief revenue officer Oliver Palmer.
Swarm Aero's first disclosed aircraft is the Gamera, a long-range Group 5 unmanned aerial system unveiled in September 2026 and pitched as a lower-cost successor to the US Air Force's MQ-9A Reaper. The company also develops Legion, a command-and-control and autonomy software suite intended to let a single operator manage multiple unmanned aircraft across air, sea and ground domains.
Swarm Aero describes its mission as building long-range, attritable strike aircraft that can be produced at scale and at a fraction of the cost of legacy manned and unmanned platforms.
