The LUNA NG unmanned aircraft is the latest element in the LUNA system for real-time airborne surveillance, detection and tracking. With its ultra-light but highly stable fuselage structure made of CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced plastic), it offers a flight time of over 12 hours – and with its data link range of over 100km, it achieves a spatial coverage of more than 30,000 km2.

The unmanned aircraft LUNA NG is the latest element in the LUNA system for real-time airborne monitoring, detection and positioning. With its ultra-light but highly stable fuselage structure made of CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced plastic), it offers a flight time of over 12 hours – and a data link range of over 100km, which can be increased even further by means of optional SatCom equipment.

The big plus of the LUNA system is its high flexibility both in transport and in use. The compact ground station fits into small vehicles or standard cabins, which allows fast transport, e.g. by helicopter. Regardless of landing strips, the aircraft can be launched from almost anywhere by cable catapult, the landing takes place autonomously via differential GPS on the net or by parachute. In flight, LUNA NG convinces with low acoustic, thermal and radar signatures.

The operation of the LUNA NG system has been tested for a long time and can be carried out without prior flight training. Through the supplied software, for example, mission planning and data analysis are largely automated – this ensures safe and reliable deployments. Via a cost-efficient modular system, the LUNA drone can be specifically equipped with the required payload – including:
