C-Astral

C-Astral (C-Astral Aerospace) is a Slovenian aerospace manufacturer founded in 2007 and headquartered in Ajdovščina, Slovenia. The company designs and builds small fixed-wing unmanned aircraft systems, describing itself as a specialist in fixed-wing UAS manufacturing and services with an internal X-WORKS development division for avionics and communications systems.

C-Astral's principal product line is the Bramor family of fixed-wing UAS, which has been fielded in variants for surveillance and ISR (C4EYE), precision surveying and mapping (rTK, ppX, mSX) and agriculture (aGX). The company also produces the ATLAS series of lightweight acquisition systems and, more recently, the SQA eVTOL, a blended-wing-body electric vertical take-off and landing platform. C-Astral aircraft are used for applications including border protection, search and rescue, infrastructure and pipeline monitoring, disaster monitoring and civil surveying, with systems reported in use across more than 70 countries.

Notable milestones include facilitating the first Canadian beyond-visual-line-of-sight fixed-wing drone flight in February 2017, participation in European SESAR research consortia on unmanned air traffic management, and a Red Dot: Best of the Best design award for the SQA eVTOL.

Among its survey-focused products is the Bramor ppX, a catapult-launched fixed-wing UAS used for civil mapping and remote sensing.
