EHang

EHang is a Chinese manufacturer of autonomous aerial vehicles, including passenger-carrying multirotor aircraft. The company was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Guangzhou. It has been listed on the Nasdaq under the ticker EH since December 2019.

What the company builds

EHang's early products were camera drones such as the Ghost quadcopter and a hexacopter, used for aerial photography, emergency response and survey work. Its passenger line began with the single-seat EHang 184 and continued with the two-seat EHang 216 and the EH216-S, a multirotor aircraft flown without an onboard pilot.

Where things stand

The Civil Aviation Administration of China approved initial passenger operations at specific sites in October 2018. In May 2020 EHang obtained a commercial pilot operation approval from the same authority covering EHang 216 air logistics work. Norway's civil aviation authority issued a permit for crewed test flights in March 2020, the company's first such European approval. The EH216-S was approved for commercial flights in 2023, and in March 2025 Chinese approval was extended to unpiloted flights, limited to operations taking off and landing at the same vertiport.
