Eve Air Mobility is a Brazilian urban air mobility company developing a battery-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) air taxi. It was spun out of Embraer, the Brazilian aerospace manufacturer, as a standalone subsidiary on 15 October 2020 and is headquartered in São José dos Campos, in São Paulo state, the same city as its parent. Embraer remains Eve's majority shareholder; other investors have included United Airlines, SkyWest, Republic Airways and Rolls-Royce. Eve is publicly listed, trading as EVEX on the New York Stock Exchange.
What the company builds
Eve's sole aircraft programme is the Eve 100, a four-passenger, one-pilot eVTOL that takes off and lands vertically on eight electric lift rotors and then cruises on a fixed wing with a rear pusher propeller. The company has signed non-binding sales commitments covering thousands of aircraft from airlines and other operators, including United Airlines and Republic Airways in the United States.
Where things stand
An uncrewed, full-scale engineering prototype of the Eve 100 made its first hover flight in December 2025 at Embraer's test facility in Gavião Peixoto, Brazil. Eve is targeting type certification with Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), alongside engagement with the United States FAA and European EASA, and plans to build six fully conforming prototypes for the flight-test campaign.
