MMIST
MMIST (Mist Mobility Integrated Systems Technology) is a Canadian company based in Ottawa, Ontario, that builds precision aerial delivery and recovery systems. The company's own account describes its start as a small team of engineers focused on making airborne cargo delivery more efficient and accurate; it does not give a specific founding date.
MMIST's founding product line is the Sherpa guided parafoil family, a GPS-guided autonomous cargo-parachute system that established the company with military, humanitarian and commercial customers. It later adapted that guidance technology into the SnowGoose CQ-10, a powered, reusable unmanned aircraft built for US Special Operations Command that delivers supplies with the same precision-landing approach. The company's other products include the SkyLink parachutist navigation system, the LaunchPADS mission-planning software, the Versa single-surface recovery canopy, and the LCADS low-cost single-use cargo delivery system.
MMIST says it has worked with the World Food Programme on airdrop missions from Jordan into conflict-affected areas of Syria, and that it earned AS9100D and ISO 9001 certification in 2021. The company markets its systems to governments, international organisations and commercial clients, and also offers recovery services for aircraft, eVTOL aircraft, spacecraft and near-space systems.
