Wingtra
Wingtra is a drone maker headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, that builds tailsitter vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) fixed-wing aircraft for aerial surveying and mapping. The company grew out of a VTOL research project at the Autonomous Systems Lab of ETH Zurich, and its WingtraOne entered series production in 2017.
Wingtra's product line combines a purpose-built drone with interchangeable survey payloads — RGB, oblique, multispectral and LiDAR sensors — and its own WingtraCLOUD data-processing software, aimed at surveyors and mapping professionals who need photogrammetric or LiDAR deliverables without a runway or catapult launcher. Its current aircraft is the WingtraRAY, launched in July 2025 as the successor to the earlier WingtraOne GEN II.
The company has expanded from its Zurich headquarters to offices in the United States and Croatia, and its drones are used by surveying, construction, mining and agriculture customers for large-area mapping work.
