XPeng AeroHT
XPeng AeroHT is a Chinese developer of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and "flying cars", based in Guangdong. The company began as an independent startup founded in Dongguan in 2013 to research and build flying cars. In 2020 the electric-car maker XPeng invested in the business and renamed it XPeng AeroHT; it has since marketed its consumer products under the brand name Aridge.
History and products
Before the XPeng investment, the company traded as HT Aero and announced $500 million in funding for an early flying-car design in October 2021. Under XPeng, it released the Voyager X1 and Voyager X2 eVTOL multicopters, both demonstrator-stage aircraft rather than certified production models. In 2024 the company unveiled its flagship product, a split "flying car" consisting of a six-wheeled, range-extended electric ground vehicle (marketed as the Land Carrier or Land Aircraft Carrier) that carries a separate eVTOL flight module. XPeng chairman He Xiaopeng said in March 2025 that the first mass production of the split flying car was expected in 2026, and XPeng's 2025 AI Day included updates to the programme.
