ANAFI UKR is a sovereign intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) micro-quadcopter developed by Parrot of France, unveiled at the Paris Air Show in June 2025. It is Parrot's second-generation defence micro-drone, built on the lineage of the earlier ANAFI USA and designed from the outset to meet requirements drawn from Ukrainian frontline use, with a civil/public-safety GOV variant offered alongside the defence model.

Overview

Parrot showed the ANAFI UKR family publicly for the first time at the Paris Air Show (Le Bourget) in June 2025, saying the aircraft had already been in use with unnamed armed forces for roughly eight months and that it was now in full production. AIN reported that Parrot developed the drone predominantly around requirements drawn from the war in Ukraine, then positioned it for wider defence and public-safety sales once in production. DroneLife reported in November 2025 that Parrot had secured a multi-year contract with an unnamed European defence force, covering a large ANAFI UKR fleet together with engineering support, training, spare parts and full lifecycle maintenance, following a competitive three-year procurement evaluation; deliveries were expected to begin before the end of 2025, with multi-year options to expand the fleet further. In December 2025 Parrot said it had added five new regional distributors across Central and Eastern Europe and Asia-Pacific — Allies Incorporated (Poland), Panna Plus (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro), Pramacom-HT (Czechia, Slovakia), MarcTel (Romania) and Advance Homeland Defense Incorporated (Philippines) — citing continued demand for the type.

The aircraft sits in Parrot's current product line alongside ANAFI USA and ANAFI Ai, but is pitched specifically at tactical ISR, border surveillance, disaster response, critical-infrastructure protection and law-enforcement missions rather than the enterprise inspection and mapping work those two models target.

Design and capabilities

ANAFI UKR is a four-arm folding quadcopter measuring 350 × 665 × 116 mm unfolded; the specs block uses this unfolded length and width. Parrot's basic aircraft mass is 959 g, rising to under 1,033 g with the Standard Smart battery fitted or under 1,365 g with the larger XLR Smart battery, against a maximum take-off mass of 1,450 g. The Standard Smart battery (6,800 mAh Li-Po) gives a flight time of 38 minutes and a flight distance of 23 km at 10 m/s airspeed; the optional XLR Smart battery (20,200 mAh Li-ion) extends this to 70 minutes and 40 km at 14 m/s. Maximum horizontal airspeed is 17 m/s (61.2 km/h), with a stated maximum groundspeed of up to 29.6 m/s depending on battery. Service ceiling is 5,000 m above sea level, and Parrot rates the aircraft to operate between −36 °C and +50 °C.

The gimbal carries dual electro-optical sensors (wide and telephoto) with 35× digital zoom and a 640-pixel thermal imager sensitive to 60 mK, each recording 4K video or still images. AIN reports a spoof-proof, multiband frequency-hopping radio and real-time optical navigation that Parrot says let the aircraft operate in GNSS-denied airspace; DroneLife describes onboard AI video analytics and target detection. Transmission options include Wi-Fi (8 km), a MARS or LoRa radio link (55 km) and, where coverage exists, an unlimited-range 5G connection — the specs block uses the 55 km radio-link figure.

Parrot and AIN both describe a defence/GOV split: the baseline ANAFI UKR carries the military frequency-hopping radio, while the ANAFI UKR GOV substitutes 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity for civil, public-safety and government customers. AIN reports list prices of $19,000 for the radio-equipped version and $15,000 for the GOV version; Parrot's own site does not publish prices.

Use cases

Parrot markets ANAFI UKR for tactical reconnaissance, border surveillance, disaster response, critical-infrastructure protection and law enforcement, and separately for first responders and emergency-relief organisations. Deliveries documented in trade press so far have gone to an undisclosed European defence force under a 2025 multi-year contract; Parrot has not named the customer.

Frequently asked questions

What is the range of ANAFI UKR?

Parrot's specification page lists an 8 km Wi-Fi range, a 55 km range over its MARS or LoRa radio link, and unlimited range over 5G where coverage exists.

How long can ANAFI UKR fly?

38 minutes with the Standard Smart battery or 70 minutes with the larger XLR Smart battery, per Parrot's specifications.

What is the difference between ANAFI UKR and ANAFI UKR GOV?

AIN reports that the base ANAFI UKR carries a military frequency-hopping radio and costs $19,000, while the GOV variant drops the radio for 5G/Wi-Fi connectivity and costs $15,000.

Who uses ANAFI UKR?

DroneLife reported in November 2025 that Parrot had signed a multi-year contract with an unnamed European defence force; Parrot has said the type had already been used by armed forces for about eight months as of June 2025, without naming them.

How is ANAFI UKR related to ANAFI USA?

Parrot describes ANAFI UKR as its second-generation defence micro-drone, building on the earlier ANAFI USA with a frequency-hopping radio, GNSS-denied navigation and a higher-zoom camera.
