Boeing is an American aerospace and defence manufacturer founded on 15 July 1916 in Seattle by William E. Boeing, now headquartered in Arlington County, Virginia. Alongside its commercial airliners and military aircraft, Boeing's Defense, Space & Security division develops uncrewed aircraft ranging from carrier-based drones to stealth combat-air demonstrators.
History and products
Boeing's uncrewed-aircraft work spans several distinct lines. Its Insitu subsidiary (acquired in 2008) builds smaller tactical UAS such as ScanEagle and Integrator under its own brand. Boeing itself developed the experimental, hydrogen-powered Phantom Eye high-altitude demonstrator and the stealthy Phantom Ray unmanned combat air vehicle demonstrator in the early 2010s, and won the US Navy's competition in 2018 to build the MQ-25 Stingray, the first operational carrier-based unmanned aircraft, designed primarily for aerial refuelling. Boeing's Australian subsidiary separately designed, built and flew the MQ-28 Ghost Bat "loyal wingman" aircraft, the first military aircraft engineered entirely in Australia in over 50 years.

The MQ-25 Stingray is Boeing's carrier-based aerial-refuelling drone for the US Navy, and the MQ-28 Ghost Bat is its Australian-built uncrewed teaming aircraft. The Phantom Eye and Phantom Ray were earlier company-funded technology demonstrators, and the BIRD H-6U is a smaller UAV entry associated with the company.
