General Atomics

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) is a privately held American aerospace manufacturer headquartered in Poway, California, and a subsidiary of the wider General Atomics group. The company was formed in 1992 and secured its first major contract that year, supplying GNAT-750 unmanned aircraft to the Turkish government.

GA-ASI is best known for the Predator family of remotely piloted aircraft. Its MQ-9A "Reaper", also sold as Predator B, is a medium-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aircraft used by the U.S. Air Force and several allied air arms for long-endurance intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and strike missions. The company's other product lines include the original MQ-1 Predator, the MQ-1C Gray Eagle used by the U.S. Army, the larger MQ-9B SkyGuardian and SeaGuardian variants developed for international and maritime customers, and the MQ-20 Avenger jet-powered demonstrator.

Beyond the U.S. Air Force, GA-ASI's aircraft have been acquired by a growing list of allied air forces, and the company continues to develop new autonomous and uncrewed aircraft concepts, including experimental platforms explored under U.S. defense research programmes.
